Acea's Story *
On November 23, 2003, I was born weighing in at a whopping 1 lb 5 oz with Paraventricular Leukomalacia (PVL).
I have endured countless surgeries and continuous therapy, along with a long list of medications. I am non-verbal with Cerebral Palsy as well. I can crawl like the best of them, but walking doesn’t happen without lots of help. Communication is hard for me, but I try to use my communication board and some sign language. BUT…God is SO good and I believe I am a blessing to everyone I meet. I have a part-time volunteer job that I love, and I also enjoy selecting my own snacks at the store. I know my parents won’t be able to care for me forever, and I would eventually like my own place! This home will be specialized for me AND other adults with special needs. - Acea Hackert
